The Gamerator Finally Lets Us Get Beer and Video Games From the Same Place

I have three questions for you:

  1. Do you love playing video games and drinking beer?
  2. Specifically, do you enjoy playing retro arcade games ranging from Atari to early 90s-era games like Street Fighter II?
  3. Do you have an extra 3500 bucks lying around OR can you somehow scrape together 3500 dollars without losing your house?

If the answer is yes on all counts, then there is a device that you seriously consider acquiring.  BEHOLD!  The GAMERATOR!

The gamerator is exactly what it looks like.  It’s a fully functional arcade cabinet, with a kegerator (keg refrigerator) inside.  Built by bar specialists Custom Bar Guys, the Gamerator is a fully functional beer dispenser; the cabinet holds a quarter-keg, (also known as a “pony” size keg) a five lb. CO2 tank, (To pressurize the tap and make the beer flow) and features a built-in tap.

Instead of giving the Gamerator quarters, the Gamerator gives YOU beer!

On the game front, the Gamerator comes loaded with a set of almost 100 classic games including; (Click Here for the Complete List)

  • Space Invaders
  • Castlevania I & II
  • Contra
  • Gauntlet
  • Joust
  • Mortal Kombat 1-3
  • Street Fighter II: Champions Edition

In addition, the Gamerator can be hooked to most consoles with an extra adapter, so you play pretty much any game you want on it.  The cabinet screen is a 26-inch HDTV, which means even current-gen consoles will look good on it.

The tricky part is, of course, the price.  Since the Custom Bar Guys build each Gamerator from scratch, each machine technically costs a different amount based on parts and labor.  They ask you put down 1000 dollars before they begin building the machine, (they don’t wanna build it unless you’re sure you wanna buy it) and then charge you the rest once the machine is finished.  They are also happy to do custom paint jobs and add console adapters and/or international keg taps for additional fees.

While it is an expensive piece of gaming hardware, if you’ve ever considered buying an arcade machine for your home, then you should absolutely look into getting one of these majestic machines.  If you want to know more, check out the Gamerator website.

On the other hand, if you can’t bear to go that website because you want this thing so bad it hurts, but there’s absolutely no way you can afford it and/or don’t have anywhere to put it,  here are a few more pictures to drool over.
