Danger Close producer Greg Goodrich announced that the studio has begun working on a sequel to the FPS. Despite mediocre reviews, EA’s modern Medal of Honor reboot apparently sold a lot of copies… Like 5 million copies. Given that, it seems odd that, rather than making the announcement with an official press release or some grand announcement event, the news came in an oddly casual post on the Medal of Honor blog. “Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor.” Wrote Goodrich; “Just recently, EA announced that the reboot of Medal of Honor was a big success with over 5 million copies sold… Since our launch last October, we’ve studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title.” Yea, so Medal of Honor 2 is on its way.
The post also gives thanks America’s servicemen, indicating that the sequel will continue the series’ new patriotic motif. Given that, the game’s plot may also be based on actual mission reports from US military operations.
Goodrich didn’t give any details about the next game’s plot or a timetable for the game’s release, but said that more information was on the way; “check back often to the website and the fan page on Facebook.”
