Nintendo released the finalized launch-day lineup for the 3DS today. In their statement, Nintendo confirmed that most 3DS will cost 40 dollars (US). There will be 16 launch-day games (18 if you include AR Games and Face Raiders, which come installed on the console.) when the 3DS hits shelves on March 27th. There are 3 first-party games; Nintendogs + Cats, Pilotwings Resort, and my personal favorite, Steel Diver. Highlights of t third-party offering include Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Ridge Racer 3D and Madden Football 3D.

The original Legend of Zelda on NES went on sale in Japan 25 year ago today. Link and the Zelda series continue to be among the worlds most recognized gaming icons. There has been a Legend of Zelda game on every Nintendo console (and one random other one) since the original NES. Many of those games became generation-defining experiences across each Nintendo console, including Ocarina of Time for the N64, which is often regarded as the single best game ever made. (I’m more of a Link to the Past guy, myself)
So Happy Birthday to Link, Zelda, Gannon and all of their adventures. Let’s hope Skyward Sword is your best game yet!

According to the UK edition of Official Playstation Magazine, the next Call of Duty game, “Modern Warfare 3”, will actually be a MW prequel to the series revolving around supporting character Ghost. Fans of the series have been clamoring for more of Ghost since MW2, and rumors of a spin-off or prequel starring Ghost began circulating since January. In their rumors section, OPMUK mentions “insider whispers” alleging that; “Infinity Ward’s next Modern Warfare title will be a prequel, with Ghost in the lead role.”

Following the announcement that Back to the Future/Jurassic Park developer Telltale Games will be developing two more serialized games based on the comic series The Walking Dead and Fables, Telltale recently added that the first episode of Fables will be released during the first quarter (January-March) of 2012. Telltale also said that episodes of both the Fables and The Walking Dead will be released over multiple years.
That’s not a lot of information, I know. Telltale said that we’ll be hearing more about both adaptations at Comic-Con this summer.
I have three questions for you:
- Do you love playing video games and drinking beer?
- Specifically, do you enjoy playing retro arcade games ranging from Atari to early 90s-era games like Street Fighter II?
- Do you have an extra 3500 bucks lying around OR can you somehow scrape together 3500 dollars without losing your house?
If the answer is yes on all counts, then there is a device that you seriously consider acquiring. BEHOLD! The GAMERATOR!
Danger Close producer Greg Goodrich announced that the studio has begun working on a sequel to the FPS. Despite mediocre reviews, EA’s modern Medal of Honor reboot apparently sold a lot of copies… Like 5 million copies. Given that, it seems odd that, rather than making the announcement with an official press release or some grand announcement event, the news came in an oddly casual post on the Medal of Honor blog. “Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor.” Wrote Goodrich; “Just recently, EA announced that the reboot of Medal of Honor was a big success with over 5 million copies sold… Since our launch last October, we’ve studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title.” Yea, so Medal of Honor 2 is on its way.
SCEA and developer Sucker Punch announced today that long-awaited super hero sequel Infamous 2 will be hitting stores on June 7th. The release coincides with the beginning of E3, which could be an ominous sign; syncing the game’s release may force critics to put their reviews on hold to cover the conference – using a strategy like that COULD be seen as a not-so-subtle way of saying that the game might not hold up to journalistic scrutiny. (Of course, it could also simply be coincidence, but that doesn’t make for an interesting story, does it.) Of course, since the original Infamous was a great game, Sucker Punch probably deserves the benefit of the doubt.
