After two consecutive weeks of AAA releases, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Dead Space 2, February continues to bringing two long-awaited sequels, a couple of well-hyped new IPs, and slew of high-profile portable console titles. On top of all that, Xbox 360 CoD Black Ops fans are going to sink another 15 bucks into the habit when the First Strike map pack gets released tomorrow. Meanwhile, drooling PS3 owners will have to wait until March 1st for new maps.

Ever since SCEE and Guerilla Games let it slip that Killzone 3 is in the works last month, there has been a steady stream of new info coming about the game – It’s coming. It’s gonna be in 3D. It’s going to push the limits of what the PS3 can do. Now, Sony has released the “debut trailer” for the game. No, the trailer doesn’t show off anything substantial about the game: It’s a classic “show off your visuals to look cool and get people excited” kind of trailer.
(WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS “KILLZONE 2” SPOILERS)
Days after Gamepro broke the news that Killzone 3 is on the way, Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe made their own announcement via their blog. Frankly speaking, SCEE’s announcement didn’t provide much new information about the game as a whole, but it did discuss the plot of the single-player campaign. Killzone 3 picks up exactly where Killzone 2 left off – The team is stuck on Helghan looking for a way out. Meanwhile, with Visari dead, the Helghast government is imploding as multiple factions fight for power.
The best part of the announcement, though, was that SCEE posted their first screens of the game. Check ’em out.
