I’m willing to bet that many, if not most Super Smash Bros fans have wondered what the series would have looked like on Nintendo’s older consoles like SNES, NES and Game Boy. Super Smash Land FINALLY gives us answers, transposing Nintendo’s number one fighting series to Game Boy-like graphics, etc.
Creator Dan Forace is very passionate about his de-make, though. The full game has not been released yet, but you get your retro Smash jollies by downloading the demo for windows here. (Or, if you’re a Mac gamer like me, you can just watch the trailer and drool…)
Dead Island, a project from Call of Juarez developer Techland, has actually been around for a pretty long time – the game was first announced in the summer of 2009. The reason you probably havent heard of it is because no one has said anything about it since… Until now.
Techland finally decided to talk, giving IGN the update to remind everyone that, yes, the game is real. Doubly so now that Deep Silver (Nail’d, Risen) has signed on to publish the game. You can’t tell from the trailer, but Dead Island is a first person action/RPG/survival horror game. In the game, you are a tourist vacationing ar the Royal Palms Resort in Papua New Guinea. Since your on an island resort, your goal is simple – Escape.
I would start talking about the trailer, but honestly you should just watch it. If Dead Island is half as interesting as this trailer, then it’s going to be a very fun, frightening and possibly heart wrenching game.

Earlier this week, Games4thought reported on the first details Bayonetta developer Platinum games newest project was leaked by Famitsu via Japanese gaming industry blog Andriasang. In my earlier report, I wrote that Max Anarchy is going to be a multiplayer-intensive brawler/fighter that will be released in Japan some time during 2011.
Technically all of that is true: The Japanese version of the game will be called Max Anarchy. In the US, however, the game will be called Anarchy Reigns.
Now that the cat’s out of the bag and the project is out in the open, Sega decided to make a separate US announcement, revealing the game’s new title, along with a couple of screenshots and a teaser trailer. (Check ’em out after the jump) Game director Masaki Yamanaka also confirmed that Anarchy Rising will see a worldwide release this fall.

Unbelievable. Developer Gearbox Software announced this past Friday that Duke Nukem Forever will, in fact, see the light of day. Amazing as it is that DNF has a hard release date at all, what’s truly unbelievable about the news is how soon the game is being released.
Duke Nukem Forever will be offending your mother on May 6th.
An oldie but if you haven’t seen it, then you need to. Honestly the best ad for a video game I’ve ever seen and it’s not even real. Earth to Nintendo – PAY THIS MAN.
Sega broke the bad news to Sonic fans today that the nostalgia-inducing downloadable “Sonic 4: Volume 1” has been pushed from its fast-approaching “summer” release to some time in “Late 2010”. Sega said that the development team needs more time to “tune, balance, and maintain the kind of polish” and an “unrivaled classic Sonic feel.” So far it looks like Sega has taken a lot of time to make sure fans of the series feel a rush of nostalgia when they play this new game – if they need a little extra time, it looks like it could be worth the wait.
Trying to sprinkle a little good news in with the bad, Sega also announced that, in addition to being available via PSN, Xbox Live and Wiiware, the company is developing a version of the game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. While it is nice that Sega is adding a portable option for the game, it might be challenging for Sega to maintain that “classic feel” on a platform that has no buttons…
UPDATE: Sega also released a trailer. Gameplay in Splash Hill Zone.
Here comes the launch trailer for “Red Dead Redemption”, one of this month’s most anticipated releases. Originally set to be in stores, last month, “Redemption” was pushed back at the eleventh hour – but now the wait is almost over. Rockstar’s sandbox western hits shelves tomorrow.
I know you’ve seen it already, but I can tell that you wanna see it again.
Remember that time “Gears of War 3” debuted on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?” Well, before we knew for sure that it was going to be GoW3 on the show, some speculated that Epic Games might decide to show off their other project, which they had also just announced right before the show. Just as EA disclosed when the game was first made official, “Bulletstorm” focuses on getting players to kill in inventive and stylish ways.
If that description seems a little vague to you, then the trailer will fill you in. Sure, there’s a plot and a setting and artwork – but once you see almost twenty different ways to kill your opponents using a combination of telekinesis and cool sci-fi guns, you’ll come to understand that none of that other stuff matters.
Wanna see Team Ninja’s newest project, “Enslaved”, in action? Yea, I thought so. Namco described the game as “God of War” meets “Ico” – Based on this video, that looks to be pretty accurate assessment…
EA announced today that their modern revamp of WWII shooter “Medal of Honor” will hit shelves on October 12th. Developer EA LA has described this game as more “authentic” modern war scenario. There’s a special new trailer for anyone with an EA account at Medalofhonor.com… And you guys.
