Worried that Double Fine productions would never make a disc-sized console game ever again? It’s been two years since Brutal Legend and studio head Tim Schaffer has said that enjoys working on DLC titles because there’s less pressure to be a major success and more room to take risks. Warner Brothers Interactive announced the next entry in the “F.E.A.R.”, called “F.3.A.R.”, (Clever, huh) via press release today. WBI will be passing development duty from series creators Monolith Studios to Day 1 Studios, the firm that ported the original “F.E.A.R.” to consoles.
In “F.3.A.R”., players will control either the first game’s hero, “Point Man”, or his undead brother, Paxton Fattel. The script is being written by horror film icon John Carpenter and “30 Days of Night” comic writer Stephen Niles. According to Warner Bros’ statement, the biggest new feature in the game will be co-op multiplayer.
Though the studio didn’t give an exact release date, they did slip that the game is on track to ship some time this fall. To hold you over until then, check out the teaser preview:
